Nabana Lodge - Hazyview
DESCRIPTION OF FACILITIES
Set amongst banana plantations, Nabana Lodge is a tranquil haven with magnificent views over the
eastern escarpment. Nabana Lodge is a household name not only to locals, but nationally, and no
wonder as it is the second oldest business name listed in Hazyview. Ours is a small family run lodge
where the emphasis is on giving our guests a memorable experience, exceeding expectations. We love
and value children and cater for them in many ways.
Ours is a fully catered lodge and facilities include clean and comfortable rooms, a vibrant pub, Thyme
Restaurant, a sparkling pool amidst extensive gardens and a large parking area directly off the main
road.
Rooms are 3-star graded, en-suite with DSTV, a ceiling fan, small safe, a coffee and tea station and
microwave. All rooms overlook the escarpment with beautiful vistas to the east. Except one that has a
double bed, all rooms have twin beds. Two of the units have interlinking doors giving easy access to
children.
The Sportsman Bar on site is where locals, business travelers and tourists meet to share their
experiences of the day and have an ice cold drink. For major sport events there is a large screen and
the atmosphere becomes electric.
Thyme Restaurant is owned by Paul Shepheard, who is an internationally trained and experienced
chef. Dine in the relaxed atmosphere on the deck overlooking the gardens or indoors in the pub. The
menu is extensive, meals are very well priced and provision is made for our little guests with a
children’s section. We cater for individual needs and can make breakfast packs for those explorers
wanting to leave early. Our restaurant is open all day, Monday to Saturday from 07h15 until 19h00.
Set amongst banana farms, Nabana Lodge is a little haven for little creatures and birds such as
Heuglin’s Robins, Paradise Flycatchers, Cape White Eye, a number of owl species and many more.
Bats and Palm Swifts co-habitat happily in the Watsonia Palm. A bird list for our area is available
from reception for the keen birder. There are twelve species of Palms in the gardens, from the Bottle
Palm to the majestic Royal Palm. A children’s garden keep the young ones safely occupied with its
biking track, jumping castle and playground.
Nabana Lodge is located directly on the R40 between White River and Hazyview with easy access into
the large car park. Guests also have the option of parking their vehicles at the rooms. It is a safe
environment being surrounded by one farm and with an electric fence as well as a night guard to
ensure an easy night’s rest.
We are ideally situated on the Panorama Route with the nearest gate to the Kruger Park 23 km away.
Sabie, Pilgrim’s Rest, and Graskop with its beautiful waterfalls, the Mac Mac Pools and God’s
Window are also in close proximity. For the more adventurous, there are many activities in and around
Hazyview to participate in – from extreme sport such as white water rafting and tree top sailing to
hiking, golf, interaction with elephants and many, many more.
We look forward to hosting you - come enjoy our relaxed atmosphere
